True Colors 05:27
Two different people Disconnected at the soul No common ground to stand on Just a stand off push and pull How did we get here And from here where do we go You say fear of failure I believe in the unknown Baby give it to me These feelings isn't free You say you've got control What the hell does that mean to me Baby give me some more What the hell are we fighting for Uncommon at the core True colors can't be ignored What are we fighting for Uncommon at the core True colors cant be ignored Open up my soul (I'm movin' on) I'm feeling out of control (My heart is mine to own) A fever deep within (Your heart is not my home) I've got you under my skin This feeling isn't free She won't come back to me And I can't believe This dream can't be achieved So she showed me the door Infection with out a cure Remnants only remain From a love that wasn't pure Baby please believe I wear my heart on my sleeve We tried our best But left our hearts open enough to bleed She gave me what I need In return I paid the fee This feeling it burns Embers of the highest degree What are we fighting for Uncommon to the core True colors can't be ignored Open up my soul (I'm movin' on) I'm feeling out of control (My heart is mine to own) A fever deep within (Your heart is not my home) I've got you under my skin

about

Following the August 2nd release of “Rings Around the Sun,” Voodoo Visionary is back with their 2nd single of the year, “True Colors.” This groovy modern funk track is the first song written with new bassist Trent Gilson. After a big, punchy intro, the verse is a smooth sonic blend of a melodic bassline leading beneath a blanket of spacey modulated guitar and keyboards. The song tells the story of a broken heart and redeeming self-assurance before a villainesque theatrical bridge builds to a freeing final chorus. Deep questions arise as old relationships fade and new quests are set in this eye opening ballad of a broken man; where the strength to carry on relies on the groove to set you free.
